West Point Military Band Concert; June 28, 2008
We had a delightful evening at the Old Orchard Beach Pavilion, listening to the music of the West Point Military Band. It was a wonderful way to kick off the week leading up to Independence Day. We all sang the National Anthem. The band played music by John Philip Sousa, George Gershwin, and featured the music of Leroy Anderson, who was born 100 years ago. The evening flew by, as we tapped our toes to the lively music.

Because the weather was inclement, there were no traffic problems. We had time to explore Old Orchard Beach, go shopping, walk on the peir, and for Arlene remember family vacations when they would all meet at the Carousel.

It was about 20 degrees colder on the coast then it was in Conway. We were gathering in the restroom, and Lois inadvertently stepped under the automatic hand dryer, and was plesantly surprised by the warmth!
