The Gibson Center celebrated Halloween by having a Costume Parade at Lunch. Several people also wore costumes or festive sweaters to the Strength, Balance, and Stretch Class; the Walking Club; and in the Dining Room.

Mountain Top music director, Ellen Schwindt, played excerpts from the Hayden pieces that the Community Orchestra will play. It was a treat to have live classical music played during lunch. Several of us plan to attend one concert or the other, 10/26 at 3PM at the new KHS, or 10/29 at 7:30 PM at Salyards Center for the Arts.

Every Monday after lunch, the Gibson Bowling Club heads to Saco Valley Sports Center where we bowl 2 strings. There is a lot of laughter, and camaraderie, and we get some exercise while we are at it! Join us!

The beautiful White Mountains attracted immigrants from the Alps. Harvey Gibson was partially responsible for this, as he brought people like Hannes Schneider over here to teach skiing. Every year the Gibson Center celebrates this part of our heritage by hosting an Oktoberfest. Chef Rick prepares traditional German Food, people dress in Lederhosen, Dirndls, and Alpine Hats, and Sally Swenson gathers together people to sing traditional music.

The Gibson Center is like a family, so we are sad when members move. In Joans case it is bittersweet, for she is going to be with her daughter, in a warmer location.
