While the day was hot and sticky here in the valley, the air conditioned bus and ocean breezes kept us comfortable. While in Newport we had a chance to wander around the port for a lunch break, next we toured two mansions, the Breakers and Marble House. We then enjoyed a bus ride to Ware, where we boarded a boat for a 4 hour dinner cruise. The food was fantastic, the boat ride was plesant, and floating around the harbor with all the tall ships was unforgetable. The captian told us about each boat as we sailed past. The day started questionably but the weather cleared and we had a delightful time at the Gallery and in the Tea Garden. There were three special displays at the Gallery, as well as fine silks, unique teapots, and other asian art. The gallery is surrounded by a Japanese Garden, full of places to stop and meditate. The plants, stones, carvings, and water features created a peaceful setting in the middle of the town. The highlight of the trip was tea on the treetop deck. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.
