GIBSON GLEANINGS
By Barbara Ray

I think I’m getting old. Normally I would be upset that most of the snow storms we had this winter stayed well south of us. (Around here, I’m known as the Snow Day Queen.) For some reason the lack of snow hasn’t bothered me as much this year. Sure I miss staying home with the cats, stoking the fire and reading a good book. What I don’t miss is shoveling the walkway, digging out my car, pulling on those clunky winter boots or sliding my car into the driveway. Either I’m getting older or the snow is getting heavier!
We’ve had a great response to the art classes being offered here at the center by artist Carl Owen. Carl is currently teaching watercolor classes on Mondays and a European art history course on Tuesdays. To broaden this experience our program director, Jill Reynolds has arranged a trip to the Currier Museum in Manchester to view some American watercolor masters on April 21st and another trip to the Boston Museum of Fine Art on April 26th. If you want to participate in any of these classes or trips call us at 356-3231 and sign up.
We will be holding our annual St. Patrick’s Day luncheons on March 15, 16 & 17 (Monday – Wednesday). Word has spread that Rick, David, Cathy & Jim offer the best corned beef & cabbage dinner in the valley at a great price. If you haven’t reserved your seat, call soon. Spots are filling up fast.
Be sure to check the schedule of programs below to see what other activities are taking place this week at the center or go to our web site at
